Authors who completed their thesis, including the defense, in 2009 or 2010, are invited to submit:
* A summary / extended abstract of the thesis.
* A link from which the complete Ph.D. thesis can be downloaded.
* A list of journal and conference papers, published as part of the Ph.D. work.

To be considered for the best paper, the author must present the work at IM 2011.

The summary / extended abstract will be included in the IM 2011 proceedings, and must be written in English, with at most 6 pages, formatted according to the IEEE double column style. The URL to the thesis, as well as the list of journal and conference papers, must be included in the reference section of the summary / abstract. Only PDF submissions will be accepted. The authors of the extended abstract will be the ex-student and his/her supervisor(s). Please note that the co- chairs may request evidence of the defense and/or approval of the thesis, if the extended abstracts are accepted.

Paper submissions must be done through the IM 2011 web site, using the JEMS system ( https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/).

PLEASE NOTE: To be published in the IM 2011 Conference Proceedings and IEEE Xplore®, an author of an accepted paper is required to register for the conference at the full (member or non-member) rate and the paper must be presented at the conference. Non-refundable registration fees must be paid prior to uploading the final IEEE formatted, publication-ready version of the paper.

For authors with multiple accepted papers, one full registration is valid for up to 3 papers. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the IM 2011 Conference Proceedings and in IEEE Xplore®.
